When most of your fans are over thirty and married, I am sure they do not want to hear songs with titles like вЂњPeanut Budder.вЂќ What is also puzzling is that even the songs with signature titles (вЂњLoveвЂќ & вЂњHow I Love YouвЂќ) could have been somewhat decent ballads had it not been for the use of auto tune. While Jagged Edge still has enough classic material to tour, the new direction with their music is not promising. Think about when you go to a concert, the majority of the time you go to hear the songs that made you a fan of the artist, hearing the new material is usually just a bonus. Kelly did with his previous albums вЂњThe Buffet and вЂњBlack Panties,вЂќ which attempt to cater to the young market while forgoing the fans who have grown up on your music. Jagged Edge made the same mistake that R. Twin brothers Brandon & Brian Casey, who could always carry a tune, resorted to using auto tune on this album, which was a mistake. Over the years, Jagged Edge continued to release good albums, including the still classic вЂњJE Heartbreak.вЂќ However, with вЂњThe Layover,вЂќ Jagged Edge seems to have lost the magic they once had. While the breakout single from the album was вЂњI Gotta Be,вЂќ the album also featured plenty of solid album tracks.

I have been a fan of Jagged Edge since their debut A Jagged Era hit shelves during my sophomore year of high school. Both are must-seesit's Bourdain after all.
